The Montezuma Community Boosters were reminded of the date for this year’s Business and Home Expo on Tuesday, March 31.
That happened at the boosters’ monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5, in The Daily Grind. There was also discussion about seeking entertainment for the Expo, and meal options.
Eddie Pierson of Mahaska Communication Group reported the firm plans to have all customers with above-ground utilities ready for cable TV by the end of March.
Pierson said a new tower to provide wireless internet services within an eight-mile line-of-sight radius is under construction.
Pastor Brad Singleton from Community Hope Church said the church will discontinue its annual Easter egg hunt in order to focus on other ministries. He said he hopes other community groups or organizations will step forward to conduct the egg hunt.
Members learned that a new summer event series is in the preliminary planning stages. The objective is to complement the Summer Nights program. Dates for the programs were discussed and will be announced later.
In other business, club treasurer Deb Ver Meer reported a “healthy” balance with receipts for paid dues being issued at a brisk pace.
It was reported that John Ahrens has opened a yoga studio on Main Street.
Montezuma Floral reported being ready for Valentine’s Day, and spring formals, including prom.
The next Boosters meeting was set for Wednesday, March 4.
