RIVERSIDE – Two Montezuma High School girls competing for BGM’s team won their weight championships at the Highland Tournament on Friday, Jan. 6.
Two two were Taytin Chamberlin and Coral Lowry, both of who won all three of their bouts.
A third Montezuma student who competes for BGM, Taya Sincox, was not listed as having scored any team points in the meet results.
This was a very large meet, with 35 schools listed as having sent competitors.
Taytin Chamberlin – first place
Chamberlin pinned Torie Hansen, Louisa-Muscatine, 2:26.
Chamberlin pinned Jayden Househ, Mt. Pleasant, 1:07.
Chamberlin beat Alyssa Kriegel, Grinnell, technical fall, 4:00, 22-6.
Coral Lowry – first place
Lowry pinned Mia Sunkle, BGM, 0:42.
Lowry pinned Ava Mehlert, Union-LaPorte City, 1:34.
Lowry pinned Ella Luebbers, Aplington-Parkersburg, 5:32.
