Montezuma’s varsity girls basketball team took a 1-0 record into its first South Iowa Cedar League contest at home on Tuesday evening, Nov. 29.

The Bravettes won their season-opening game over non-league opponent Pella Christian.

We are a work in progress, but I am excited with where we are,” said Bravettes Coach Janel Burgess.

We have a lot of potential and tremendous team chemistry,” the coach said.

This team is very special when it comes to their collective-ness,” Burgess said.

After Tuesday’s game against HLV, the Bravettes hit the road Friday for a contest at Lynnville-Sully.

ADDED TO ROSTER – Harlea Pargeon, a 5-5 sophomore forward, was added to the varsity roster prior to the season-opening Pella Christian game.
