FORT DODGE – Montezuma’s Ellen Cook placed 74th and Alivia Cline was 98th in the Class 1A state cross country meet on Saturday, Oct. 30th.
Cook, a freshman, clocked 22:20.72.
Cline, a sophomore, was in at 22:54.95.

“Ellen and Alivia ran very well,” said Montezuma Coach Kevin Gartman. “The Class 1A field was highly competitive, which included a state record by 16 seconds.”
That record in the 152-runner race was by freshman Noelle Steines of Calamus-Wheatland, who won in 18:20.91.
“It was a great day to run up in Fort Dodge for the state cross country meet,” Gartman said.
