Ellen and Alivia ran very well,” said Montezuma Coach Kevin Gartman. “The Class 1A field was highly competitive, which included a state record by 16 seconds.”

That record in the 152-runner race was by freshman Noelle Steines of Calamus-Wheatland, who won in 18:20.91.

It was a great day to run up in Fort Dodge for the state cross country meet,” Gartman said.
