Cook wins another medal at Pekin meet

OTTUMWA – Montezuma ran into some more strong cross country teams, this time from the southeastern portion of the state, at the Pekin Invitational.

The meet was run on a hilly, sun-splashed course at Wildwood Park in Ottumwa on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Ellen Cook again medaled for the girls, placing seventh.

As a team, the Bravettes were seventh, and competed well.

The Braves placed eighth, with Jayden Ross the first Montezuma athlete into the chute, in 19:34 over the 5k course.

NEXT ACTION – For the cross country teams will be Thursday, Sept. 7, at Collfax-Mingo.
