WAPELLO – Montezuma senior Cruz De Jong will be competing in the Class 1A state golf meet in Ames on Monday, May 20.
De Jong will compete as an individual after shooting a second-place 81 on Tuesday, May 14, at the district meet at Heritage Oaks in Wapello.
Another Brave, Jack Erselius, shot 86, but fell just shy of qualifying for the state finals.
Monday’s state event will be played at Ames Golf and Country Club.
