Diaz and Gillum earn fifths at North Cedar

CLARENCE – Montezuma High School wrestlers Brian Diaz at 170 pounds and Chance Gillum at 220 earned fifth place finishes at the North Cedar Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The pair were Montezuma’s only entrants in the meet. They scored 12 team points to finish ninth in the nine-team meet.

Diaz earned Montezuma’s only on-mat victory of the day, with a 51-seconds pin of Connor Burke of North Linn in the fifth place match at 170 pounds.
