Thursday, April 10, was another great night for the Bravettes, who were able to get two track and field meets in this week.
The weather was hit or miss throughout the day with wind and pop-up showers, which continued through the first portion of the meet, but it ended up being an amazing night for the event.
The throwers are taking off in the discus and putting up some points for the team. In the long jump, Chloe was able to also secure a 3rd place finish for her first time jumping this season.
One of the better highlights was the Distance Medley picking up a win and running the fastest time in the past 18 years of records (maybe longer; I do not have all of that data).
This was a fun race to watch, but only part of the great things that happened during the meet.
Ellen is starting her senior year with a bang, anchoring the D-Med as well as running a solid 800, where she finished second.
The girls ran against some great competition – most of it from fellow SICL members – and it helped them to put up some strong performances.
One of those during the evening was the 4×100, which finished 2nd but was so much fun to watch.
Overall, we have so many amazing kids that are filling roles to help the team be successful. We are going to continue to move some things around in the next few weeks, so we can learn more and be ready for the later portion of the season.
After this meet, we are so proud of the kids and enjoy getting to work with them every day!
