Elise Boulton is an Academic All-Stater

Montezuma senior Elise Boulton has been named to the Academic All-State Basketball Team announced by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.

A total of 28 girls, in all classes of play, were selected from a field of more than 90 applicants.

The all-state team has a composite ACT score of 26.2, a basketball game scoring average of 14.9 points, and a grade point average of 4.02.

Twelve of the 28 girls named are either number one or two academically in their senior classes.

Elise is such a tremendous student-athlete for MHS,” said her head coach, Janel Burgess.

She works extremely hard in the classroom, on the court and within the community to be the best she can be while also leading,” Burgess said.

We’re all so proud of her and congratulate her on the prestigious award.”

Elise is headed to Simpson College to continue her academic and basketball careers.
