EV beats Bravettes 13-3 in 5 innings

NORTH ENGLISH – The English Valleys Bears put the ball in play and kept the line moving in a five-inning, 13-3 run past the Bravettes in softball action on Wednesday evening, June 14.

The Bears made nine hits, and those, combined with six Montezuma errors, kept English Valleys baserunners on the move.

The win lifted a solid EV team to 10-5 on the season. Montezuma fell back to 7-8.

The home team took a 6-0 lead into the fourth inning, then finished things with a seven-run fourth.

Kamryn Schmidt had a hit for Montezuma and drove in two runs.

Laila Kercheval’s hit was a double, and Chloe Snook drive home a run with a base knock.

Montezuma’s fourth hit was a single by Madison Van Zee.

Vivian Cook stole a base for the Bravettes.

Kallie Robison pitched four innings, and just two of the 13 runs she allowed were earned. She didn’t walk anyone, and struck out two.

The Bears were swinging heavy metal. They hit two home runs and two doubles.

Kennedy Axmear and Taylor Mikesell each hit solo home runs.

Addison Auerbach was two-for-three with a run batted in.

Delaney Hall hit a double and drove in four runs.

Addy Westfall doubled and drove in two.

Axmear went five innings for the pitching victory, allowing one walk while striking out four.

English Valleys extended its winning streak over the Bravettes to five games.
