Flexibility was called for and flexibility we had!

As I look back at the 2024 track season, the one thing that comes to mind is flexibility. We had to be flexible in many different aspects for the season to be successful.

The weather was not always ideal, but we adjusted – even moved meet days to help the girls get experiences on the track. Our roster was missing some key pieces, but we had girls step up and fill different roles to help the team and score points.

Meets were canceled and moved around, we had parents, bus drivers, teachers, coaches, and administrators work with our kids and schedules to get the girls where they needed to be.

This was a challenging season and I wish we had more time to figure some different things out. However, I am so proud of how our girls represented our community and school. They worked hard, met new friends, and left me with some amazing memories.

It is sad to say goodbye to five amazing seniors who have been wonderful for the program, but I am excited to see what they can do in this next phase of their lives.

As coaches, we will miss the team meals, meetings before practice, problem-solving, watching athletes figure it out, and being blessed to have the opportunity to help these girls grow.

Montezuma has some amazing kids who have been willing to tackle one of the hardest sports. I am excited to watch all of the girls grow in other aspects of their lives and I am excited for what the future holds.

Thank you to everyone who has helped our season happen, I appreciate all of the efforts!
