Football Braves celebrate achievments

Brian Diaz (66 in blue), works on defense. (Allyson Fillmore file).

Eddie Burgess was co-most valuable player on the District 4, Class 8 all-district team.

The announcement was made during the Sunday, Nov. 24 football awards dinner.

Burgess was also a second team all-state player on the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association all-state team for Class 8. (There is a separate story about that on this website).

Five Braves are on the all-district team. They are:

Burgess, sophomore quarterback and linebacker/defensive end;

Trey Shearer, junior wide receiver/defensive back;

Cole Watts, junior wide receiver/defensive back;

Brian Diaz, junior linebacker and offensive lineman;

Kennen Roadcap, freshman two-way down lineman.

BRAVE AWARDS

Diaz – Lunch Pail Award – “Goes to the guy that worked the hardest in the weight room, classroom and on the football field,” said Coach Pat O’Brien.
