Montezuma’s Class 8 district for football will look a little different this fall.
The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the new district after its Feb. 5 board meeting.
Here is Montezuma’s district, which is District 4: English Valleys, Lone Tree, Montezuma, Moravia, New London, Tri-County, Twin Cedars, WACO and Winfield-Mt. Union.
That will be in effect for 2020 – but could be changed again in 2021. The board promised to re-evaluate the districts at the end of the season to see if modifications are needed.
Fans will note that HLV and Iowa Valley are no longer in the district. BGM will be an eight-man program this year, and is in a district with those two and others.
The schedule for the season has yet to be announced.
