Four Bravettes were placed on various all-league teams when South Iowa Cedar League coaches met in Keota in late October.
Montezuma’s first-teamer, as the setter, was senior Waverly Roorda. She was second in assists with 495 and also 13th in kills with 149.
Making the second team was sophomore Ashlyn Krousie. She placed fifth in kills with 270 for the 20-17 Bravettes.
Making honorable mention for the Bravettes were Maddy McKeag and Shelby Conger, both seniors.
Conger was 14th in kills with 142. McKeag was the Bravette’s libero.
Montezuma placed fourth in league play with an 8-4 record.
Taylor Smith of Iowa Valley and Nicholaa Phillippe of Belle Plaine were the two unanimous picks to the first team.
April Kressley of 11-0 Belle Plaine was coach of the year.
Janelle Rozendaal of Lynnville-Sully, a senior, was honored with the Golden Award, which goes to an injured player who missed action, but otherwise was a likely all-SICL choice.
