Former Montezuma prep Riley Gatton got away to a hot start and wound up scoring 20 points when her DMACC team scrimmaged against St. Ambrose on Sunday, Oct. 20.

The scrimmage was played in Montezuma.

Riley hit the first 11 points of the game – three treys and a two-pointer,” said former Montezuma boys coach Al Rabenold.

Rabenold said about 100 people attended the free admission event.

St. Ambrose “won” the scrimmage, 75-69, although it didn’t count on either team’s record.

The teams wore practice gear, not their game stuff,” Rabenold said. “But it (the day) was okay . . and good for Riley!”
