Girls 8-0 in league after TC victory

The volleyball Bravettes finished unbeaten in South Iowa Cedar League regular season play with a 3-0 run past Tri-County on Thursday evening, Oct. 7.

Scores were 25-17, 25-15 and 25-20.

Montezuma ended with an SICL record of 8-0. There’s no official league championship awarded. That will be decided next week in the conference tournament.

The Bravettes advanced their seasonal record to 14-7.

Tri-County fell to 2-18 overall and to 1-8 against the league.

Montezuma plays at least three matches in the Martensdale-St. Mary’s tournament on Saturday, Oct. 9.

JVs CLOSE WITH WIN – Montezuma’s junior varsity volleyball team closed its season with a win over Tri-County.

AFTER THAT – The SICL tournament starts on Monday, Oct. 11, with the Bravettes hosting the first night.

English Valleys will play Lynnville-Sully at 5 p.m., with the winner taking on the Bravettes after that.
