MARENGO – The Bravettes kept the pedal to the medal throughout the game, and scored an 8-3 softball victory over Iowa Valley on Monday evening, June 13.
It was Montezuma’s third win of the season.
Montezuma led 2-1 after three innings, then plated three runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to take command.
Montezuma outhit Iowa Valley by just an 11-10 margin, but the Bravettes played some tough defense, with just one error on the night.
Izzy Roorda went 3×4 at the plate, with two runs batted in and a stolen base.
Kalynn Wanders was 2×4, with a double and two RBIs.
Montezuma added five stolen bases to its offensive totals.
Kallie Robison pitched all six innings, walking no one while striking out six. She gave up just one earned run.
The win pushed the Bravettes to 3-10 on the season.
Iowa Valley fell to 4-11.
