Girls beat Warhawks in four sets

NEW SHARON – North Mahaska, which has given Bravettes volleyball teams problems in the recent past, didn’t go quietly when the two met for a showdown on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Nevertheless, down they went, in a 3-1 match score.

But the Bravettes had to go four sets to earn it, with the Warhawks scoring 20 or more points in every set.

The Bravettes showed their overall versatility and depth, with good numbers posted in each department of play.

Chloe Snook had 23 assists. Syd Burgess had 14 kills.

Lauryn Larmore had 20 digs, with Lily Ferry coming in with 15 and Mya Smothers with 12.

Leah Urfer had five blocks.

And as usual, the Bravettes had a number of girls serving with accuracy and effectiveness.

The Bravettes remained unbeaten in SICL play and took their season’s record to 18-8. North Mahaska went to 8-6.
