Girls compete well with peer groups

Traveling to English Valleys allowed the junior high volleyballers to play against teams that were very comparable to the Bravettes.

Both teams served similiarly and moved the ball around. It was great to be matched up with a similar squad.

The girls played hard in the first two 8th-grade sets and then struggled to get things going in the 3rd set against some strong serving.

The 7th graders started slow in the first set and turned it on in the 2nd set. The girls had to battle back in the third from 18-24 to tie the game at 24-24.

This is a hard thing to do for young players and it was great seeing the poise from the girls. Ultimately, the Bears pulled away in the 3rd, but I am so proud of the fight they displayed.

Overall, it was a good night and with only two games left in the season, I hope the girls continue to leave it all out on the court.

8th grade: 25-23, 19-25, 5-25

7th grade: 21-25, 25-12, 24-26
