WINFIELD – At the beginning of the evening, it was rather warm, but the clouds came out and made it a very nice night for competing in Winfield on Thursday, April 23.

Ellen Cook kicked off the night by running her first 3,000 of the season and coming away with a 1st place finish. It was rather hot during her race, and that didn’t stop Ellen from running her third fastest time of her career.

The shuttle hurdle team came away with a 2nd place finish and a new -best time.

Chloe Snook won the 100 dash and improved her time for the season.

The 4×200 ran the season’s fastest time by over 6 seconds, coming away with a solid win.

Alexa Rose ran a solid 800 and was able to finish 6th. Hayden Sutherland followed suit and finished 6th in the 200.

Sophia Semprini ran her first 1,500 of the season and finished 5th.

The 4×100 relay order was moved around, and the group was able to finish in 3rd place behind two Drake Relay qualifiers.

The 4×400 relay ran the fastest time of the season and finished 5th.

Overall, it was a great night. The girls are continuing to work hard and move around to different events to help them prepare for the big meets coming up (SICL and Districts).

We hope this weather will hang on and we are excited to see what the girls continue to improve on throughout the next few meets.
