VICTOR – The Bravettes came out and got ‘er done against Colfax-Mingo in the semifinals of the “silver” division of the South Iowa Cedar League volleyball tourney Thursday, Oct. 17.
Montezuma won 3-0, on set scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-21.
“We played very well as a team,” said Montezuma Coach Katie Dunlap, whose squad moved to 17-16 in all matches.
Colfax-Mingo fell to 6-18.
Ashlyn Krousie led the Bravettes in kills with 10.
Waverly Roorda had 20 assists.
Maddy McKeag led in digs with 10.
Most Bravettes served well, with Katie Reynolds heading this category by going 15-16 with four aces.
The win sent Montezuma against HLV in the finals of the “silver” bracket, which is the one just below the championship “gold” bracket.
