Girls get experience at PCM meet

By Megan Carlson

MONROE – After having the first meet canceled, the girls were ready to get things going at PCM on Tuesday, April 8. PCM has a beautiful track complex and gives the girls a chance to compete against larger schools and people we don’t typically see.

The wind was a factor for most of the meet, as well as cool temps, but we loved how the girls rallied together to get things started strong for the season.

The meet started with a timing delay and had several other timing delays throughout the meet, making it take longer than what was necessary.

Overall, the girls were able to place in the top five for all of their relays, including a first-place finish with the D-Med. Second-place finishes on the night included the Sprint Med, 4×800, Chloe Snook in the 100m, and the 4×100.

Third-place finishes for the night included Ryanne Williams in the 100m, Chloe in the 200m, and Ellen Cook in the 1500m (Second fastest 1500m in Ellen’s career).

It is great to see the girls working hard, even in subpar conditions, with great warm-ups and support throughout the night. This team has been battling some injuries, but we are excited to see what they can do as the season gets rolling. We have so many motivated girls with some great goals in how they want to finish the season.
