Girls get in that last pre-holiday meet

LEGRAND – It was another windy night, but warmer temps made it a comfortable night to run on Thursday, April 17. The strong wind hit the girls on the home stretch and impacted times across the board.

Being the smallest school of the 12 in the field, and returning from a busy week with State FFA was a challenge for the girls, but they worked hard.

Several girls had season bests, especially in the field events. The throwers have been putting in time, and it is starting to show.

They have some great goals, and I know they will keep working toward them.

Ellen Cook had a great night and finished with a solid 4th place finish in the 1,500, where she was able to race a lot of girls and put up her third-best time ever!

Chloe Snook was battling some back issues throughout the week, and we didn’t even know if she would be able to run, but despite being tight, she was solid in all four of her events.

The 4×100 team was great, posting their second fastest time of the season. The fastest time this group posted put them .66 seconds away from qualifying for the Drake Relays!

I am so proud of all of the girls who show up every day to work hard, encourage each other, and are truly happy for the success of their teammates.

This is a special group. I hope we can get everyone healthy, and people will notice the amazing things these girls can do! I am so blessed to coach this group!
