SULLY – The softball Bravettes edged closer to a winning regular season, making the most of just four hits in a 4-2 win over Lynnville-Sully on Friday evening, June 23.
The win lifted the Bravettes to 10-11 on the season. Still to go are a two-game tourney on Saturday, and a regular season contest against BGM on Monday.
The Hawks scored two runs in the first inning, then were shut out the rest of the way by pitcher Kallie Robison and an errorless Bravettes defense.
Robison scattered 11 hits. Both runs against her were earned. She walked one batter and struck out eight.
Chloe Snook went three-for-four for Montezuma, with a triple, two runs batted in and two solen bases.
Kamryn Schmidt was one-for-four.
Madison Van Zee drove in a run, while izzy Roorda and Vivian Cook each had a stolen base.
Abigail Squires had two hits and drove in both Lynnville-Sully runs in the first inning. Mikayla Tice went three-for-three for the Hawks.
Alexy Conover pitched the distance for Lynnville-Sully, allowing all four runs, just one of which was earned. The Hawks made four errors.
Conover walked four and struck out five.
The loss dropped Lynnville-Sully to 6-16 on the season.
