Girls have ability to be ‘very good team’

We are now well into the season and we have had a mix of significant highs and lows. However, we knew heading into this season that it would take some time to achieve consistency in our performance.

The kids have worked and played really hard, listened intently and tried to do the things asked of them to grow.

I hoped our initial schedule would help us learn to compete right away. I didn’t want to play in contests that gave us a false sense of who we were and what we needed to do to play our best when the season mattered the most.

This past week we had a 5-set win at South Tama and a 5-set loss at Belle Plaine. It showed that we have the ability to be a very good volleyball team.

We just need to learn to play and finish consistently.

How we as a team respond from Monday will be key. We have a great weekend of matches against Collins-Maxwell, Meskwaki, a rematch with South Tama and we finish up with a rival in Lynnville-Sully.

If we continue with our growth mindset, learning from our mistakes, and handling adversity, we have the opportunity to put things together and meet our own expectations.

I am excited to see how our team responds this weekend.
