Iowa Valley scored four runs in the eighth inning to score an 8-4 win over the Bravettes in an extra inning thriller on Monday evening, June 3, in Montezuma.
The game featured some excellent defensive plays by the Bravettes, who on offense continued to stroke the ball, with nine hits on the game.
Chloe Snook, Ellen Cook and Mya Smothers each had two hits for Montezuma. Cook had a double and a run batted in. Snook stole a base. Smothers drove home a run with a double.
Kam Schmidt had one hit, an RBI-triple.
Madison Van Zee had one hit and stole a base.
Lauren Larmore had one hit.

Leah Urfer started in the circle for the Bravettes and threw the first six innings. She allowed 6 hits and one run, which was earned. She walked one and struck out 4.
Syd Burgess worked two innings in relief and wound up tagged with the loss. She gave up 5 hits and 7 runs, 4 of which were earned.
Burgess walked 4 and struck out one.
Montezuma leveled off at 3-3 with the defeat.
Iowa Valley climbed to 5-3.
