The Bravettes had their hitting shoes on when they started on their way to winning the Bravettes Classic on Saturday, June 17.
Montezuma pounded out 15 hits on its way to a 9-2 run past Green Mountain-Garwin.
Chloe Snook, Kallie Robison and Ellen Cook each had three hits as the Bravettes took control early – and kept it.
Montezuma scored three runs in the first inning and three more in the third to take its lead out to 6-1.
One of Snook’s three hits was a double.
Robison batted in a run with one of her three.
One of Cook’s trio was a run-producing triple.
Jadyn Sharer had two hits and drove in two runs. Izzy Roorda had two hits, including a double.
Kamryn Schmidt and Abby Pope had one hit each, while Jordan Ranfeld drove in a run.
The Bravettes were six-for-six in stealing bases. Vivian Cook was perfect on all three of her attempts. Snook stole two and Leah Urfer swiped one.
Robison was the Bravettes’ starting and winning pitcher. She worked the first five innings, allowing just two hits. She didn’t walk a batter and struck out one.
Urfer threw the final two innings, allowing two hits. She didn’t walk anyone, and fanned two.
The win sent Montezuma into the championship game of the tournament against Moravia. It also lifted the Bravettes to 8-9 on the season.
GMG fell to 6-11.
