Girls overwhelm Belle Plaine, 13-0

Belle Plaine came to town, and Montezuma came ready to play.

The softball Bravettes beat the visiting softball team 13-0 in three innings on Monday evening, June 12.

Kallie Robison pitched a three-inning no-hitter for Montezuma.

The Bravettes’ innings were more productive. They scored eight runs in the first and were off to the races.

Laila Kercheval (14) is batting and Ellen Cook (3) is on deck against Belle Plaine.

Chloe Snook went three-for-three at the plate, scored three runs, drove in two and stole two bases.

Laila Kercheval and Ellen Cook each were two-for-three. Kercheval scored three times and Cook drove in two runs.

Izzy Roorda drove in two runs with a single, and Jadyn Sharer plated two with a base hit.

Montezuma played an errorless game.

Robison didn’t walk a hitter and struck out three.

The win lifted the Bravettes to 6-7 on the season, while Belle Plaine fell to 2-9.
