The Girls SICL Meet was held at the beautiful stadium in Colfax on Tuesday, May 6, and the girls were able to put together a few season-best performances on an almost perfect weather day.
The field events were led by the discus throwers and Sophia Semprini, who has improved over 30 feet this season and is flirting with the 100 foot club.
Mya Smothers just missed the top in the discus, but all of the throwers are putting in the time, and now the results are starting to come together.

The night was not without some struggles. We have been dealing with injuries throughout the season, and today, a few girls were not at 100%. However, the next person stepped up, and we fought to do well in all of the different events.
Ellen Cook had a heavy work night, but scored in all of her events, and the highlight was anchoring a new season- best in the D-Med.
Kami Mathes had a heavy night and even adjusted to fill some open spots. Lily Ferry ran one of her best nights as she continues to improve.
Vivian Cook is battling a few injuries, but she is one of the hardest workers on the team and will do whatever it takes to get to the top spot.
Chloe Snook again worked hard, led the Bravettes to a new season best in the 4×200, and placed in the top four of all her events!
One of the best parts of the night was seeing Ryanne Williams get back on the track after a long injury battle. She ran great and will help the team in so many different ways.
Other top events were PRs from Lauryn Larmore (800 split), shuttle hurdle dropping five seconds, and moving up three places from where they started! Also,Hayden Sutherland placing in the 100 hurdles and so many other PRs and moments of the team coming together.
I understand we cannot control everything, but this group is coming together and working so hard to support each other. We are going to have fun these last few meets, but it is also sad to know that we only have a few meets left together.
