PELLA – A combination of light rain, hills and mud did not deter the Montezuma girls cross country team from making a strong run at the Pella Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Central College.
“The girls placed sixth as a team, just a few points behind three other ranked teams in Class 1A,” said Montezuma Coach Kevin Gartman. Montezuma was sixth out of nine full competing teams in the small school division.
“The boys competed well, running a few best individual times for the season,” Gartman said. Montezuma placed 8th out of nine full competing teams.

Boys – 24) Carter McKee, 20:41. 29), Jayden Ross, 21:25. 42) Jack Erselius, 22:41. 44) Bryson Stockman, 23:11. 50) Colton Benson, 24:20. (There were 50 runners).
UP NEXT – Montezuma runs in an invitational in Marshalltown on Thursday, Sept. 9.
