BELLE PLAINE – “Monday games are always an interesting experience in junior high athletics,” said Montezuma Coach Megan Carlson. “You never know what team will show up.”
For the Bravettes, it was the usual crew at Belle Plaine on Monday, Oct. 3.
8th grade – 25-18, 25-17, 15-6.
“The eighth graders started well, but still had several moments where we were unable to stay in rhythm,” Carlson said. “This group is capable of so many great things and they need to understand how important it is to always work to set the pace and bring the energy.”
“Volleyball momentum can change so fast, so it is important to stay up and work at everything – one point at a time.”
7th grade – 23-25, 25-21, 5-15
“This crew has continued to grow so much this season,” the coach said. “They have amazing moments where everything is clicking and firing. However, they also have moments where the youth of the players shows through.”
“This group continues to work to get better and they are a great group to coach. I am excited for the day when they are able to put it all together,” Carlson said.
“I am blessed to have both groups and it is sad knowing we only have one game left for the season.”
