Girls struggle against HLV’s ‘D’

.VICTOR – With the exception of game three, the Montezuma Bravettes had trouble getting the volleyball to hit the floor on HLV’s side of the net.

A result was a 3-1 victory by 6-14 HLV over the now-9-11 Bravettes on Monday evening, Sept. 23. Scores for HLV were 25-14, 25-16, 19-25 and 25-12.

As noted, the Bravettes rallied for a 25-19 win in game three. But otherwise, Montezuma saw many of its serves and attacks dug out by the Warriors and sent back over the net.

These teams met earlier in the month in Montezuma’s tournament, when the Bravettes were 2-1 winners.

Ashlyn Krousie had eight kills and three blocks to lead Montezuma in those departments.

Krousie’s four digs tied her for team honors with Shelby Conger and Maddy McKeag.

Katie Reynolds led the Bravettes in serving, going 14-for-14 with one ace.

UP NEXT – The Bravettes host HLV on Thursday, Sept. 26.
