Girls’ Tuesday opponent unbeaten in SICL

The final athletic events of 2022 in Montezuma are Tuesday night, Dec. 20, when the varsity girls and boys play Iowa Valley in an SICL doublheader.

The hosting Bravettes will take center stage in this one, because of the teams’ records.

Iowa Valley is 8-1 and unbeaten in league play.

The Bravettes are 6-1, and have one league loss.

Sophomore Lydia Kriegel is the flag-bearer for Iowa Valley, averaging 15.1 points, 10 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Lola Frimml, a junior, averages 10.3 for the Tigers and Macy McMann, a senior, is at 9.6.

For the Bravettes, Mia Boulton scores 13.7 per game, Ellen Cook is at 10.0 and Jadyn Sharer is at 9-7.

In boys’ play, it will be 5-2 Montezuma against a 2-5 Tiger team.

Caleb Haack scores 15.9 points a game for the Tigers. Evan Kearney is at 14.3 and Beau Long scores 8.9 a contest.

For the Braves, Brady Boulton is scoring 15.9 a contest, Masin Shearer is at 15.1, and Gavin Strong is scoring 13.9 a game.
