The Bravettes volleyball team came out and took care of business at home against BGM Thursday evening, Sept. 26.
Montezuma won 3-0, on scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-15.
It was a methodical, all-around demolition of a 3-11 team by the Bravettes, who had a similar experience – on the down side – at HLV earlier in the week.
The victory lifted Montezuma’s overall record to 10-11.
“We are working on being more aggressive a the net,” said Montezuma Coach Katie Dunlap.
The statistics below reflect Montezuma’s play. Quite a few contributed quite a bit.
Korinn Kehoe and Ashlyn Krousie each had five blocks and Shanae Wetering had four.
Shelby Conger, Maddy McKeag and Krousie each had seven digs.
The Bravettes did some tough serving. Roorda was 18-for-21 with three aces. Conger was 11-for-11 with two aces. And Krousie was 10-for-11 with one ace.
“I was proud of how we played as a team,” Dunlap said. “It was a good win for us.”
It was quite a night for Montezuma volleyball in general. It was a Bravettes sweep of BGM in 7th and 8th grade play, frosh/soph, and JV’s, in addition to the varsity.
UP NEXT – The Bravettes are at North Mahaska on Monday, Sept. 30.
