The Bravettes were taking care of business.
Montezuma’s volleyball team dominated at the net and took a 3-0 win over BGM on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
It was the first round of Class 1A regional tournament play, held at Montezuma.
Scores in this Bravette win got progressively better for the home team: 25-16, 25-13 and 25-10.
The Bravettes came up with 13 blocks in this match against the shorter Bears. Dylan Holland led with six, and Shanae Wetering had four.
Ashlyn Krousie led in kills with 11. Lending support with five each were Shelby Conger, Waverly Roorda and Wetering.
Katie Reynolds led in digs with eight and in assists with 17.
The Bravettes also had balance in serving, with four different players good on at least 10 serve attempts, while two others were at nine. Holland had three aces and Krousie had two.
The win was number 19 on the season for Montezuma, against 16 defeats.
BGM closed out an 8-18 season.
UP NEXT – The Bravettes host again in the second round. That match will be against Lynnville-Sully, at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28.
