MARENGO – The Braves golf team was on fire Friday, April 28, at the Iowa Valley Tiger Invite held at the Marengo Golf Course.
All Braves scored 41 and under on the nine-hole round to take meet champion honors, shooting a team score of 147.
The Invite medaled eight places individually. Maguire De Jong was meet medalist with a one under par 34. He finished with back-to-back birdies.
Owen Cook was runner up after making several key long putts and lipping out a hole-in-one on a par three hole.
Cruz De Jong medaled in 3rd place with a 37. Carsten James tied for 6th with a 40 and carded out 6 others including teammate Jack Erselius, who also shot a 40. Max Anderson followed close with a 41.
The team score of 147 posts a new low score for the Braves and pushes them to keep fighting hard to continue to improve into the rest of the season and fast approaching post-season.
