Golfers make it a Sectional three-peat!

Montezuma’s boys golf team made it three straight sectional championships with a 20-stroke team win on Wednesday, May 10, at Diamond Trail Golf Club.

With the top four individuals counting toward the team score, the Braves totaled 311, which is an outstanding score for a Class 1A team over 18 holes.

In second place, at 331, was South Hamilton.

Montezuma’s individuals finished first through sixth place in the one-day tournament, which included five full squads.

What’s next: Montezuma moves on to the District tourney, on Monday, May 15, at Crestwood Hills in Anita. Starting time is 10 a.m. That will be the last step before the state tournament, but it’s a step Montezuma wasn’t quite able to make last season.
