On Tuesday, April 22, we were at Diamond Trail Golf Course near Sully. Scores were as follows:
Montezuma girls
– Addi Ver Meer 54
– Claire Erselius 56
– Sydney Nicholson 60
– Marley Stowell 66
Team score Bravettes: 236
Montezuma boys
– Isaiah Wilson 44
– Ethan Desrochers 49
– Carson Van Der Hart 53
– Larry Mohr 54
Team Score Braves: 200
Isaiah had a personal best round on Tuesday. He struck the ball very well and did a very good job planning and executing his shots. Isaiah had his second birdie of the season during his round. He has been consistently scoring in the top 4 on the team.
We had multiple athletes with personal best rounds including Claire Erselius, Sydney Nicholson, Ethan Desrochers, Beau Young, and Henry Drake.
Claire was runner up medalist for the girls.
On Thursday, April 24, we played at Brooklyn-Victor Country Club.
Ethan Desrochers had his first birdie of the season on a par 5, hole 3.
I could tell how focused he was during his round tonight on course management. Brooklyn’s course is incredibly hilly leaving players with frequent difficult shots and lies. Ethan did a fantastic job managing the course and hitting shots that put him into scoring position.
Claire Erselius had 3 pars during her round. Claire saw success both off of the tee and around the greens. She has been very engaged in practice and asking for additional help and feedback to improve.
Claire is putting in time at the golf course outside of our scheduled practices and her hard work is paying off.
We have been really focusing on short game (chipping and putting) during practice this past week and we can see it making a positive impact during competition. All of those with personal best scores today had success around the green.
Our boys scored 188 as a team, which is a season low team score.
