Golfers win 2 of 3 at Keota

KEOTA – Montezuma’s girls golfers turned in a winning round with sisters Chloe and Aislyn Hutchcraft earning runner-up medalist and meet medalist.

The meet was at Keota on Monday, April 12.

Keota has no girls golfers this season.

The boys side saw the Braves fall to the Eagles by 5 strokes – Montezuma 178 and Keota 173.

Montezuma golfers experienced Lagos Acres’ long, tree-lined fairways in addition to the pond on the short par three in the middle of the course.

Montezuma competed with six varsity golfers and was able to have 6 additional junior varsity golfers also play in groups with Keota’s JV boys.

Montezuma’s Maguire DeJong and Keota’s Luke Hammen both scored a 41 and were named meet medalists by Keota’s coach and meet manager.

On the JV side, Montezuma posted a winning 196 team score to Keota’s 218.
