Got a team? Need a game?

The Montezuma (Iowa) Braves have extended their reach a bit in looking for a varsity high school football game to play on Friday evening, Aug. 28.

Activities Director Tim Burgess posted on the school’s Twitter account that the Braves need a game and are willing to travel or host.

You never know who might know someone . . .who might know someone . . .who knows someone who needs a game, so we thought we’d post it here, too.

You need to know that Montezuma plays 8-man football and is looking for a similar team.

The Braves were going to play at Twin Cedars on Aug. 28, but that school had to cancel because of COVID concerns.

There are eight-man teams in surrounding states as well as Iowa, but a problem is that many states have pushed back their starting dates for football, or moved the sport to spring. That doesn’t help when you’re looking for fill an Aug. 28 play date.

Anyway, if you’d like to speak with Burgess about a game, e-mail him at tburgess@montezuma.k12.ia.us
