ELDORA – Montezuma’s high school runners left the junior high kids home – it was planned – and went off to compete in the South Hardin Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5.
“It’s not a fun course to run, but a beautiful morning and a lot of grit on display. Proud of how everyone competed this morning!,” said Braves Coach Kevin Gartman.
Girls varsity – 5K
Montezuma was 2nd of 4 competing teams – 4, Ellen Cook, 23:50.2; 9, Alexa Rose, 24:51.5; 13, Claire Erselius, 26:34.7; 19, Sophia Semprini, 28:14.8; 21 Vivian Cook, 29:01.6; Haileah Eichenberger and Karlee Knust, no times. There were 32 varsity runners.
Boys varsity – 5K
Montezuma was 6th of 8 competing teams – 16, Dayton Reif, 20:57.7; 25, Cade Lowry, 21:27.2; 27, Cael Cheney, 21:32.7; 29, Jusiah Wetering, 22:08.4; 40, Bryson Stockman, 24:08.6; 42, Nicholas Damon, 24:37.9; 44, Linkyn Bru, 25:15.1. There were 49 varsity runners.
