LYNNVILLE – Cross country is tough enough with pathways through trees, grass and underbrush.
Throw in hills – like on many golf courses – and it’s tougher still.
But, Montezuma’s boys, especially, showed more improvement at the Lynnville-Sully Invite on Thursday, Sept. 14, at Diamond Trail Golf Club.
The varsity boys packed closer together, with three runners, Jayden Ross, Carter McKee and Jack Erselius, not far off the 20-minutes mark for the 5k run.
The junior high boys scored as a team, placing second out of three scoring teams. Cade Lowry (13th place), Dayton Reif (15th) and Jaxon Young (16th) all were between 11:39 and 11:46.
Ellen Cook led the varsity Bravettes with a 13th-place finish in 23:14. Next was Vivian Cook, 33rd at 26:18.
