Hawks end Braves’ baseball season

SULLY – State-ranked Lynnville-Sully scored two runs in the first inning, added 6 in the second and never looked back in a 10-0 baseball win in five innings over the Braves in second round tournament action on Tuesday, July 9.

The loss ended the Braves’ season with a record of 5-13.

Lynnville-Sully moved on at 24-3.

The Braves had three hits, one each by Garrett Watts, Easton Hudnut and Broox Stockman. Watts also had a stolen base.

Watts was Montezuma’s starting pitcher. He threw three innings, allowed 5 hits and 9 runs, 6 of them earned.

Watts walked 3, hit 3 and struck out 3.

Isaac Wedgewood pitched an inning for the Braves, allowing one hit and one run, which was earned. He walked two and struck out one.]

Carson Maston hit a double and drove in four runs for the Hawks.

Starter Lucas Sieck pitched three innings and earned the win.
