Here are updates on athletic events

There are a number of updates in the areas of cross country and football and volleyball.

Cross Country – The Thursday, Oct. 22 state qualifying meet in Guthrie Center has been moved from a 4 p.m. start to a 1:30 p.m. start.

The girls race will start at 1:30 p.m., with the boys at 2:00. The awards ceremony will start at 2:45 or sooner, if possible.

We are assuming tomorrow’s weather forecast is the reason for this.

Football – The Montezuma Community Schools announced there will be no livestream telecast of Friday’s Braves vs. Lone Tree football game. A notification from the school to both communities told people there is a Facebook scam about a purported livestream that is trying to get people to pay to see the livestream. The message: Don’t pay. There will be no livestream.

Volleyball – There WILL be live radio broadcasts on local stations of tonight’s (Wednesday, Oct. 21) volleyball match between HLV and Montezuma. KBOE and Energy 106.7 both will be there.

There COULD be live (and free) broadcasts of Friday night’s football game. We’ll check with these local stations to see.
