Both Montezuma basketball teams will be favored, but it’s post season play, so you just never know.
The Braves host BCLUW on Monday, Feb. 13 and the Bravettes will host Midland of Wyoming on Tuesday. Both games have 7 p.m. starts.
BCLUW’s boys will tote a 6-14 mark in against Montezuma’s 15-6.
Their top scorer is 6-2 senior Cayden McLeland, who averages 14 points, 8 rebounds and just under 4 assists.
Carl Keller, a 6-1 junior, scores 11.3 per game.
The Comets score four fewer points than their opponents, on average.
The Braves, meanwhile, outscore opponents by 20 per outing.
Montezuma has a balanced offense, Brady Boulton leading at 15.2 points per game, while Masin Shearer scores 14.1 and Gavin Strong scores 13.9 per game.
Garrett Watts leads rebounders with 5.9 per game, with Owen Cook at 5.2 and Strong at 4.4.
