HLV girls beat Bravettes in 5 innings

VICTOR – HLV scored six runs in the first inning, then played add-on until taking a 12-2 win in five innings over Montezuma on Tuesday, July 2.

The Bravettes rapped out 8 hits, same as the Warriors, but six Montezuma errors kept HLV traffic going on the basepaths.

Chloe Snook had two hits, a stolen base and a run batted in for Montezuma.

Lily Ferry hit a home run in a JV game at South Tama this week.

Madison Van Zee also had two hits.

Vivian Cook knocked in one run with a hit.

Also getting one hit each were Ellen Cook, Mya Smothers and Lauryn Larmore.

Lily Ferry had a stolen base.

Sydnee Burgess pitched 0.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 6 runs, of which 5 were earned. She walked three and struck out one.

Van Zee pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 6 runs, 3 of them earned. She walked four, hit one batter and struck out one.

HLV made just two errors.

The Bravettes fell to 9-11 on the season. HLV climbed to 16-5.
