HLV zone stifles JV girls, 37-26

By Coach Kevin Gartman

The Montezuma JV girls basketball team fell 37-26 to HLV on Tuesday night, Dec. 8.

In a tough game against a good 2-3 zone, offense and outside shooting was tough to find for the Bravettes, as they got down 4-17 early on, and never were able to fully pull themselves from that hole.

While defensive pressure was prevalent, the Warriors held their lead through the end as Montezuma fell by 11 points.

Alivia Cline was the leading scorer with 7 points, and Ashlee Eilander and Kallie Robison each added 8 rebounds.

The JV Bravettes (2-3) play a half at home against BGM on Friday night, before games against Lynnville-Sully, Sigourney, and two against Williamsburg next week.
