Holland, De Jong reign over homecoming

Dylan Holland and Michael DeJong were named queen and king of homecoming at Braves Night on Thursday, Sept. 3, in the Montezuma north gym.

They will reign over the remaining activities, which include a parade at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, and the homecoming game at 7 against Winfield-Mt. Union.

It was a socially-distanced Braves Night that included an inspirational speech from Janice Albrecht, an assistant girls track coach at the school.

Former football coach and principal Darrell Brand was on hand to lead his traditional breakdown drill.

Various coaches spoke briefly about their teams. There were cheers and music. . .and then the crowd went home to wait on Friday’s homecoming parade.
