MARENGO – The volleyball teams from Montezuma and Iowa Valley must be joined at the hip.

They couldn’t be much more evenly matched.

They played another five-set match, this time Thursday evening, Oct. 17, in the championship of the silver bracket at the SICL conference tournament.

Iowa Valley won again, on scores of 25-17, 17-25, 25-23, 17-25, and finally, 15-9 in the tie-breaker.

The silver bracket is a consolation bracket of the SICL tournament. Both team had lost in the first round on Oct. 14, then won a semifinals match earlier on Thursday.

Ava Pargeon and Chloe Snook each had 13 assists, with Kylee Larmore second in kills with 8.

The match ended Montezuma’s regular season with a 12-14 record.
