It’s back-to-back wins for Braves in SICL golf!

OSKALOOSA – That little exercise Saturday of running up north to play golf teams from larger schools was not a waste of time.

The Montezuma Braves shot 327 on Saturday – and 326 on Monday, May 8. But this time, that score was good enough to win the SICL boys tournament championship – by 16 strokes.

It marked back-to-back conference titles for the Montezuma boys.

The Braves again were consistent. They didn’t have the meet medalist. In fact, best finish by a Montezuma golfer was fifth, on a 78 by Maguire De Jong. Cruz De Jong matched that 78 score.

Then, it was Jack Erselius at 79, Owen Cook at 91, Max Anderson at 95, and Carsten James at 102.
